Cakes will take the spotlight at The Americas Cake and Sugarcraft Fair to be held Sept. 18-20 in Orlando, Fla. The fair, open to the public and trade, will feature cake competitions, more than 75 demonstrations and hands-on classes, and a sugar art fashion show. “On Friday night, the show floor will be transformed into a high-fashion haven, where haute chocolate couture and sinfully delectable designs will dominate the runway,” show organizers say. More than a dozen sugar, cake and chocolate craftspeople will design edible fashions to be modeled on the runway during the fashion show. Cake, chocolate, fondant, pulled sugar, blown sugar, and royal icing are among the mediums being used to create the fashions.
The Americas Cake and Sugarcraft Fair, hosted by Satin Ice rolled fondant, also will feature guest appearances by some high-profile bakers and cake decorators, including Buddy Valastro, Ron Ben-Israel, Mich Turner and Roland Mesnier.
