Congratulations to bakers from The Netherlands, France and Taiwan who earned the World Master Baker title by winning the Bakery Masters competition held during the Europain bakery, pastry and confectionery trade show, Feb. 3-6, in Paris. Eighteen bakers (six for each category: Nutritional Bread Making, Gourmet Baking and Artistic Bread Making) competed in the competition.
And the 2018 World Master Bakers are:
Nutritional Bread Making
Peter Bienefelt, The Netherlands
Peter (pictured above) is a fifth generation baker who owns his own company Atelier du Pain.

Deborah Ott, France
Deborah is only 25, but as been a baker for 11 years, and works in La Walck in the Alsace region of eastern France.
“Baking is my passion. As a woman, I feel completely fulfilled in this profession. Ever since I was a little girl, making cakes with my mum always made me really happy.”

Artistic Bread Making
Peng Chieh Wang, Taiwan
Chef Jay, as he’s known, has been a baker for 15 years and operates a bakery, Boulangerie Shakespeare & Co.
“The baker plays a role as the joyfulness carrier. He delivers joyfulness and happiness to everyone by sharing different types of products.”
